New website goes live

By Hannah Bose | 7th November, 2025 |

We’re excited to announce the launch of our brand new website this week!  It’s been a long time coming, but we’re so pleased with the end result.

We’ve had our ‘old’ website in place for a good many years now, having been designed and developed for us by the team at Eight Wire in Falmouth, but it had definitely got to the end of its life, and we also needed a full upgrade as our focus, resources and products have all been greatly developed and enhanced during that time.

Having worked with Multivitamin Studio since 2019, after they won the commission to develop our new DadPad app platform, we were delighted to be able to work with them to design and create the new website.  They’re also working with us on more exciting new developments, including our DadPad Neonatal app (coming early in the New Year, with more information to follow in December) and a Co-ParentPad app, too.

The good news is that – as far as possible – all the old URLs should still work on the new website, so you don’t need to worry about updating anything that you already have on file for us.  If you do spot any issues, though, do please drop us a line – via our new ‘Get in Touch’ page, perhaps, or via email to hello@thedadpad.co.uk – so that we can address this ASAP.

So, what’s changed? Where do we start?!

A shop window for our products

One of the key things we wanted our new website to do was to be more representative of our branding, including the individual colours, logos and straplines that we use for our different products.  We particularly love the brand-colour-specific buttons and icons that the designers at Multivitamin put in place for us:

At the same time, Multivitamin also designed icons to illustrate the different topics covered by each resource, which we hope helps make everything a little bit more accessible for everyone:

We especially wanted to be able to have a separate section for the Co-ParentPad, which ‘feels’ and looks totally separate to the DadPad pages, in order that we can continue to provide support to ALL expectant and new families in a bespoke and individualised manner.  We hope you agree that the Co-ParentPad ‘home page’ looks amazing, with its cool teal colouring (rather than the traditional black and yellow of DadPad) helping to clarify the distinction:

You’ll see from this page that we’re looking to provide separate blogs and news items etc just for the Co-ParentPad, and this is something we’ll definitely be developing over the coming months, to help us achieve our goal of providing greater equality of focused and distinct support for all non-birthing parents [and we’re hoping that, longer-term, we’ll have a stand-alone website for all things Co-ParentPad…].

We also wanted to be able to include more detail on each of our individual products, and this is where the amazing new ‘Our Products’ page comes into its own.  It’s a bit like a little ‘shop front’ for our different resources, and we can add to this as we introduce new items to our portfolio:

Clicking on each product takes you to the individual page for that item, and from here you can also now buy copies of the DadPad direct (as you always could do with the old website), but also now copies of the Quick Read DadPad and/or Co-ParentPad, too!

The DadPad app page provides detailed information on all the areas of the country currently covered by a DadPad app licence, which means that you can download and access the app for free in those locations.

The first thing to help with this is a great interactive map, on which you can locate your part of the country and find out which app(s) are in operation there. You can also find out the commissioning organisation for each app, and – wherever possible – we’ve also linked to that organisation’s own website info on its DadPad offer. We’re hoping that this map and the related info helps manage expectations – and also helps people see how big a footprint that the DadPad app currently has in England!

One big issue that we’ve had for a while is that we’re currently running the DadPad app on two platforms (and each of those features on both the App Store for Apple and the Google Play Store for Android), and we’ve had some difficulties in properly clarifying for users exactly which version of the app they need to download.  We set this puzzle to the developers at Multivitamin and were delighted with the fantastic solution that they’ve come up with – we now have a drop-down list at the top of the page, from which you can select your area.  This then generates the relevant links to the app stores for the app platform for that region’s app:

We hope that this minimises any confusion for users, but do please feedback to us if you have any observations on this part of the website.

More about us!

Another thing that we really want to improve on was the information that we share about our organisation and team.  We’ve now got a fantastic ‘About Us’ page, which provides a quick summary of our ethos and aims – so you can get a better idea about why we’re doing this:

There’s also an ‘Our story’ section, which enables us to highlight lots of key moments in our history; an overview and individual bio for all of our ‘Team DadPad’ members; and additional information on all the amazing individuals, organisations, and companies who support, advise, fund and endorse our work, within our ‘Strategic Partners’ page.  We’re really delighted that we finally get the chance to say a big and official ‘thank you’ to all these great people!

More useful content

The ‘blog’ section has always been a big part of the DadPad website, and we were really keen to continue this focus across to the new website.  Multivitamin worked with us to make the new ‘Blog’ page even more user-friendly, with new features including:

  • the ability to filter blogs according to our three core ‘blog types’;
  • an enhanced search function, which enables readers to search blogs by keyword, categories and/or author;
  • clearly set out ‘Further reading and references’ sections at the end of most articles, to help individuals find out more on a specific topic and to provide links to the sources of our information; and
  • suggestions for further reading at the foot of each blog post, with links to up to three other related blog posts.

We’ve also added in a separate ‘News & Research’ section (where you hopefully found this article!), which we’ll be looking to develop over the coming months and years.  In particular, as well as including news relating to what we’re up to here at DadPad, we’re also going to be developing sections for:

  • sharing links to online references to DadPad, which we’re calling our ‘DadPad in the News’ This is a great opportunity for us to both bookmark and archive some of the lovely things that people have said about us;
  • dad-focused research, where we can share links to online sources of academic research and investigations which are pertinent to our work, and which will therefore also be a useful resource for others working in the ‘dad-sphere’; and
  • our own research! As our new app platform enables us to ask questions of the dads who are using the resource, we’ve got a brilliant opportunity now to generate our own findings about what real-life dads think about key topics, what concerns them, and what they want to know more on.

The final exciting development – for now – is our ‘Useful Contacts’ page, which can be accessed from the footer of any webpage.  On here, we’re looking to provide contact information and website links for a number of amazing support organisations and charities who may be of value to new parents, all arranged by topic. This content complements the information that’s also included on the DadPad app, but we’re aware that not all dads or parents have access to this, and we’re also keen to provide easy-access to support for dads or families in crisis, especially during ‘out-of-hours’ times.  This development came in response to the occasional email that we’ve received over the years from new parents, concerned about how they or their partner are coping and reaching out to us for help.  As these emails often come in late at night, or over a weekend, we’re not able to respond particularly quickly – and individualised support is not something that we’re really able to provide – so having this section of our website available for 24/7 access was really important to us:

If you’re aware of any other national support organisations that we don’t currently have listed and who you think would be of value, please do email us to let us know.

We’d love to hear your thoughts on our new website, and our open to positive and constructive feedback, to help us always be the best that we can be!

We’ll aim to provide more info on the new website soon, including how we kept accessibility at the heart of its development, so do please check back soon.
